Organization design is that branch of management theory that is concerned with defining the relationships between business units and business employees. Thus, organization design specialists are often involved in creating organization diagrams that show managerial reporting relationships. A few organization designers are focused on designing organization models that imagine organizations structured around value chains and business processes, or that have business process managers.
