A body of knowledge and practice that focuses on facilitating change within large organizations. There are two major schools of thought within the change management community, those deriving their approach from Kotter and those who trace their efforts to Hiatt and Creasey at Prosci. Most business process approaches incorporate the major concepts of change management into their practices which emphasize the need to communicate honestly and often with all the stakeholders of a process that is being changed to minimize resistance to and to facilitate acceptance of the changes.
