Case Management is a term that derives from the healthcare industry, where it refers to the fact that each individual constitutes an individual case. Even an established process, for example, a triple bypass, must be adjusted to take the individual into account. Applied to processes, more generally, Case Management refers to techniques for dealing with business processes that are especially complex and dynamic and that need to be adjusted on an individual bases when they are executed. Software designed to support Case Management development is sometimes referred to as Adaptive Case Management (ACM) or iBPM software.
