Business Performance Modeling for ERP Projects, Part 2
In Part 2 of this two-part series, Joseph DeFee provides additional detail on how business process modeling and simulation is used to support enterprise resource planning (ERP) in commercial off the shelf (COTS) projects. The author argues that the use of simulation models is key to gaining buy-in from the functional users and that the techniques described in his Article will remove significant risk in all aspects and phases of ERP projects.

Joe DeFee is Senior Vice President and manager of the Advanced Systems Division Group at CACI. He has 24 years of information systems design, software development, enterprise architecture development, and business process reengineering experience. For the last 12 years, he has focused on business process reengineering, business process simulation technology, software reengineering, and aligning information technology to business objectives for customers. He is the co-author of CACI's RENovate methodology; a formal methodology for modernizing customers business processes and information technology.
