BPM in Europe: BPM, Tomorrow’s Discussion, and the Whuffie Factor
In his final Column for BPTrends, Frits Bussemaker reflects on the past seven years of BPM in Europe. To achieve a sustainable future, Frits advocates limiting, rather than expanding, the scope of BPM which he thinks is blurring the definition of BPM. Frits Bussemaker started his career in IT industry in 1988. He has worked for various organizations like Logica, Cambridge Technology Partners and Staffware/Tibco software. He is the founder and chairman of the Dutch BPM-Forum (www.bpm-forum.org), a non-profit neutral expert platform for BPM. He is also the president of the ProcessCommunity (www.processcommunity.org) an international network of board members of local BPM communities. He sits on the board of advice of a number academic, non-profit and commercial organizations. He is a frequent (international) speaker on BPM and community building and regularly contributes to books and magazines like the Dutch BPMagazine and BPtrends.com.
