Paul Grefen and Oktay Turetken

Paul Grefen is a full professor in the School of Industrial Engineering at Eindhoven University of Technology since 2003. He received his Ph.D. in 1992 from the University of Twente. He was a visiting researcher at Stanford University in 1994. As a researcher and a manager, he has been involved in various European research projects as well as various projects within the Netherlands. He is an editor and author of the books on the WIDE and CrossWork projects, and has authored books on workflow management, electronic business and service-dominant business engineering. His current research covers architectural design of business information systems, inter-organizational business process management, and service-oriented business design and support. He teaches at the BSc, MSc, PDEng and PhD levels at TU/e and at the executive level for TIAS business school. He can be reached at P.W.P.J.Grefen@tue.nl.

Oktay Turetken is an Assistant Professor in the School of Industrial Engineering at Eindhoven University of Technology, The Netherlands. Between 1998 and 2008, he worked as a software and business process management consultant in industry. During this period, he participated in and led a number of projects related to ERP system implementation, large-scale software intensive system specification and acquisition, and project & portfolio management system implementation. His research interest centers around the topic of 'business model engineering', with special focus on the operational design and implementation of service-dominant business models using BPM methods and tools, and the organizational capabilities related to the strategic, people and cultural factors (i.e. soft factors of BPM) that influence an organization's ability to (re)design and manage business (& process) models.
