Business Process Trends classifies information on this site in terms of communities. We created this classification system to make it easy for members and visitors to locate information on specific Business Process Activities and/or Business Process Types of interest to them. Business Process Activities
This set of communities is focused on six (6) core Business Process Activities: Strategy & Architecture, Redesign and Improvement, Process Automation, Human Performance Improvement, Management & Measurement and Deployment of business processes.

Business Process Types
This set of communities is focused on specific Business Process Types. At the highest level, we have divided all business processes into four (4) core types: Product Design Processes, Sales & Marketing Processes, Supply Chain Processes and Enabling Processes.

Taken together, the two sets of communities define the business process space, as illustrated in the BPT matrix shown below. This matrix displays all the communities we support on the BPTrends portal.
