Each year there is an international BPM conference which is the main conference for those interested in academic BPM and in research in BPM. This year's international BPM 2016 will take place on September 18-22 in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. Having done quite a bit of consulting in South America, and enjoyed visits to Brazil, I can assure readers that there is a lot of interesting process work going on there. The largest ABPMP chapter, for example, is located in Brazil, and the government has invested a lot of money in defining government processes. BPM 2016 isn't limited to academic and research topics. As the main conference takes place, a variety of special workshops and more specialized meetings also occur. For example, there is an Industrial Track at BPM 2016 that will bring together an international group of process practitioners to talk about important issues involved in implementing actual changes at organizations. This track has grown in importance in recent years and should include some good case studies that show how the latest research is being used by leading companies. For more information about the industry track, see http://bpm2016.uniriotec.br/?page_id=156There is still time to arrange to submit a paper to this year's conference. Organizations are invited to submit their cases and present them to an international audience. The industry track will have:
- Cases presentation with the incentive of the BPM Innovation Award for the most outstanding case,
- Invited speakers presenting and discussing Future Trends in BPM.
